Bible College

The purpose of the Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC) Extension Campus at Harvest Christian Fellowship is to provide an opportunity for believers to study the Word of God and to grow in an intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus. The courses are designed to aid students in spiritual growth and better equip them to serve in the church and in their daily walk with the Lord. Our hope is that every student who attends CCBC will have a stronger relationship with Jesus at the end of each class than at the beginning. The overall purpose would be best summed up by the Scripture found in 2 Tim 2:15 “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (NKJV)

History

Calvary Chapel Bible College was founded in 1975. It was developed as part of Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa’s overall vision to equip people for God’s service. As the ministry grew, extension campuses were set up throughout the country. This affords students who are unable to relocate to Murrieta, California with the same quality teaching available at the CCBC home campus. The first CCOBS courses were offered at Harvest Christian Fellowship in the spring of 1996. Until recently we operated as Harvest Christian Fellowship Outreach Bible School. However we have recently been accorded full status as an Extension Campus of Calvary Chapel Bible College. This means not only do we offer the same curriculum as the main campus in Murrieta, but that students may work toward either an Associate in Theology or Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree. Extension campuses are also ideal for the individual who desires to take just one or two courses for personal enrichment.

Philosophy

Calvary Chapel Bible College exists for one very simple purpose: "To enable men and women of all ages to know Jesus Christ more fully and more intimately through the careful study of God’s Word.” – Pastor Chuck Smith. At Harvest Christian Fellowship we believe the regular, Holy Spirit-inspired verse-by-verse study is the way God reveals Himself to His children. We also believe that the Bible is our final authority in all that we do. All teaching at the CCBC is reflective of this policy.

Accreditation

The Calvary Chapel Bible College (CCBC) is not accredited by any accrediting agency. CCBC is an independent religious exempt institution which is allowed to grant degrees in Theology and Bible Studies. Though the Bible College is un-accredited, many other Bible Colleges will accept credit from CCBC on the basis of the integrity of the Calvary Chapel Ministries. Students with questions about transferable credits should call the Registrar’s office of the institution they wish to attend. The student will need to provide the prospective school with a catalog from CCBC to compare credits. Although we do not have any formal written agreement with any college or university, from time to time credits from CCBC are accepted on a case-by-case basis. Questions concerning transfer of credits to the main campus in Murrieta or to another extension campus should be referred to the Harvest Christian Fellowship CCBC Administrator at email: harvestnyc_ccbc@hotmail
